Two Races in Two Weeks? Why You Should Be at Both.

Posted on Thu Sep 17, 2009 10:12am

Some of you may be thinking, "Which Miles for Meso race should I attend? The one in Alton or the one in St. Louis?" The simple answer? Do both. Here's how it works:

1. Register for Miles for Meso in Alton on September 26th and get a hi-tech running shirt.

2. On race day, register on-site in Alton for the St. Louis race on October 11th for only $10 and get a branded water bottle.

3. On October 11th, collect a branded gear bag at the St. Louis race.

We hope you can join us in Alton first, whether you’re competing for cash prizes, simply enjoying the outdoors, or showing your support for mesothelioma awareness. Participants will receive a hi-tech, long sleeve running shirt. The top three finishers in the men’s and women’s categories will receive cash prized of $500 (first place), $200 (second place), and $100 (third place). There will also be five $100 cash prize drawings.

And in St. Louis you'll also be competing for cash prizes, gift certificates and more. Along with generating awareness of mesothelioma, a rare and aggressive cancer caused by exposure to asbestos, the Simmons firm’s sponsorship includes matching and donating all entry fees to the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation, a national nonprofit dedicated to funding critical research for better treatment options and, ultimately, to find a cure for mesothelioma.

Greetings

I am Larry Davis and was diagnosed with Mesothelioma in 2006. If it would help your race Miles for Meso I would come to St Louis and run with you- Believe in a cure. I am a Volunteer for M.A.R.F and have gotten Mesothelioma Awareness Day Proclamations from The State of Connecticut and Pompano Beach FL. I also have a race planned for Feb 14 2010 to Benefit M.A.R.F – It will be held in Boca Raton FL, while you are having winter in ST. Louis. Keep up the great work. Come run in the Sun in Feb 2010.
