Miles for Meso Finding Its Legs
Posted on Thu Jan 28, 2010 2:17pm
When we launched Miles for Meso on September 26, 2009 in Alton, Illinois, we were overwhelmed by the positive response. In fact, before the runners and walkers had even arrived, before the shirts and keepsakes were even ordered – the phone started to ring.
How can I help? Can I host one of these? Are there other Miles for Meso events across the country?
Questions from Chicago, Texas, New York, Portland and elsewhere started coming in. The enthusiasm for taking the fight against mesothelioma to the streets was staggering.
The truth is, we’re still trying to figure out the answers to those questions. Soon we hope to have a system in place for helping others coordinate their own Miles for Meso event.
In the meantime, we’d encourage you to look to South Florida, where mesothelioma survivor Larry Davis is hosting the Wishing Wells Miles for Meso 5K. Larry will be putting on a great race on February 14th to benefit mesothelioma research.
If you're in the Florida area, we'll see you there.
