Register for Alton Race By Saturday, Save $5

Early Registration for the 5th Annual Alton Miles for Meso Race ends Saturday, Aug. 31. Registration costs $25 through Aug. 31. After that, registration increases to $30. Race day registration is $35. Everyone who enters will receive a long-sleeve techniqual T-shirt commemorating this year’s 5 year anniversary.

As a Road Runners Club of America Championship Race, the Alton Miles for Meso includes events for every ability level with the 5K Race and 2K Walk beginning at 8:30 a.m. and the Elite 5K Race at 9:30 a.m. Elite athletes will compete for $10,000 total in prizes. The top three runners in the Age Group 5K will receive cash prizes of $250, $150 and $100 respectively. Awards will be given in 5-year increments and to the top three Clydesdale (200+ lbs) runners. The top Illinois and Missouri 5K runners will also receive RRCA championship plaques.

Additional race day activities include a kid zone with a bouncy castle, pumpkin painting and more; a live performance by country band, the Five & Dimers; a vendor fair, featuring local businesses giving away freebees; and a doggy adoption event hosted by Hope Rescues.

Packet pickup will be available at the Simmons Law Firm, 1 Court St., in Alton, the Friday before the race. Race day pick up is also available and will begin at 7:30 a.m.
