Register for the Federal Way Race by Saturday, Save $7

Posted on Wed Jun 27, 2018 11:37am

The 7th Annual WA Memorial Miles for Meso 5K Race, presented by Simmons Hanly Conroy and the City of Federal Way, returns this Fourth of July to Federal Way, Washington. Everyone who registers by Saturday, June 30 will save $7.

The race honors the memory of Dick Dyhrman, Bud Hatley and Bob Stewart, who passed away from mesothelioma, a cancer caused by asbestos. Race organizers hope to raise $20,000 through this year’s race that will go to help fight mesothelioma cancer. All funds raised will benefit the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation, a non-profit that helps mesothelioma patients and their families, provides research grants and supports national awareness about the dangers of asbestos.

Registration costs $30 for adults and $25 for kids. On the day of the race, registration increases to $37 for adults and $32 for kids. The kids’ dash is free for kids ages 10 and under. If you cannot attend, online donations can be made here.

Everyone who registers will receive a tech fabric, long sleeve event shirt and a goody bag. For those who register beforehand, packet pick up will be available on July 3 at the Federal Way Community Center (876 S. 333rd Street) from 8:30-10:30 a.m. and again from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

• 8:45 a.m. – Kids’ Dash

• 9 a.m. – 5K Race
