Posted on Tue Sep 17, 2013 2:41pm

Participants who register for this year’s Alton Miles for Meso 5K race will receive a T-shirt that celebrates the five year anniversary of the race. In 2009, the first Alton Miles for Meso race took place. Since then, the race has cumulatively raised $100,000 for mesothelioma research.

Everyone who registers will receive a navy blue, long-sleeved T-shirt. Volunteers will receive a beige shirt. Currently, more than 550 people have pre-registered. Online registration is open for two more days. It will close on Wed., Sept. 18, at Noon.

Packet pick up for anyone who registers by Sept. 18 will be available from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 20 at the Simmons Law Firm building across from Marquette High School. The packet will include the participants T-shirt and a bag of goodies and coupons from our sponsors.

Race day registration will also be available on Sept. 21 before the start of the actual race from 7:15 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. Ceremonies for the race start at 8:10 a.m. The Age Group 5K and 2K Walk begin at 8:30 a.m. The Elite Race is at 9:30 a.m. and the awards ceremony for both will take place immediately following the conclusion of the Elite Race, around 10 a.m.
